Introduction: Fruit Holder

Eating fruit is part of a healthy diet but maybe you have been put off buying it as you don't have anything to hold it in and loose round fruit will roll off your bench top onto the floor and become a tripping hazard. This fruit holder eliminates that problem. It is made from a spare packet of coloured pencils.

Supplies

Packet of coloured pencils

Length of 25 mm dowel

Some screws

Tools:

Saw

Drill

Drill bits

Screw driver

Step 1: Cut the Pointy Bits Off

Measure and cut off the pointy bits from the pencils. I did this while they were still in their packet.

Step 2: Dill a Hole in Each Pencil

Drill a hole 45 mm from the base of each pencil. Make the hole large enough for the screw to fit through.

Step 3: Cut a Bit Off the Dowel

Cut a length of 25 mm diameter dowel to be 10 mm long. Holding the dowel in a vice as it is cut will make this easier to do. If you don't have a vice, you can easily make one: https://www.instructables.com/Wooden-Cutting-Box-and-Clamp/

Mark equally distance around the circumstance of the dowel, 8 mm apart and drill holes for where the pencils will be attached.

Step 4: Attach the Pencils

Attach the pencils to the dowel with screws.

Position the upper portion of the pencils forward slightly, this will cause the pencils to spread out making a fruit holder.
