Introduction: Fume Collector

*Steps 1-3 are the required parts needed for this project.

**In advance, I created the design and forgot to take pictures of the project during it. So I re-did some of the steps.

Step 1: Step 1- Main Box

Buy 2 of these plastic boxes or something similar to this.

Step 2: Step 2- Fan and Battery Pack

Buy a DC 3-5V 1500-10000RPM High Torque Motor with propeller and wires to connect to a battery pack.

Step 3: Step 3- Buy a Filter

The filter I used was not an exact filter, but the filter that is needed is called Flanders Fiberglass Air Filters.

Also. Get any bar or strip to hold the motor and fan in place.

Step 4: Step 4- Putting Together Boxes

Take both boxes and super glue/ hot glue the two pieces together.

Step 5: Step 5- Drill a Hole

Drill a hole about 1/3 of the way into the box.
This allows the wires to go thru and connect the battery pack to the motor.

Step 6: Step 6- Creating Rectangle Holes

I used a laser to do this part, if you do not have access to a laser you can drill out the hole or find another method of creating a hole in both sides of the box.

Step 7: Step 7- Wiring

Stick both wires thru the small hole you created earlier and have the fan rest in the middle of the big hole.

*Make sure you glue the battery pack to the top of the container.

Step 8: Step 8- Attaching the Fan and Filter in Place.

Use the 2 bars from the materials required and hot glue/ super glue the 2 bars at an equal length and put the motor of the fan in the slit you created and hot glue/ super glue it in place.

Cut the filter out to match the size of the container and hot glue/ super glue it to the back of the container.

Step 9: Final Design

This is what the project should come out to be.
