Printables:https://www.printables.com/model/1248299-fume-extractorfan

Supplies

Printed parts:

  1. Base
  2. Arm
  3. Fan case

!!!! When printing the Base you want to make it as heavy as possiblle, so for that reason there is a hole in the model so you can pause the print and fill it with something heavy like small rocks and add super glue so it holds in place

Electronics&Hardware:

  1. Fan (Nidec D03P-05TM 07)
  2. Switch
  3. 5V connector(USB-C)
  4. Some wires
  5. M5 nuts(2)
  6. M5*15mm srews (2)
  7. M3*15mm screws (4)

Other:

  1. Super glue
  2. something heavy but small (small rocks)
  3. Active Carbon Filter ---optional

Step 1: Insert the Filter and Fan Into the Printed Part

  1. put the carbon filter to the bottom of the part
  2. put the fan wires through the hole, them slowly and carefully push the fan to the filter
  3. Screw 4 M3*15 screws from the front

*The filter position is up to you (at the back, front or both) and you don't even have to use the filter - in that case it's better to screw it from the back*

You may also use different screw size, depends on your fan/filter thickness

Step 2: Attaching the Arm

  1. Insert M5 nut
  2. put the arm between
  3. screw the M5*15mm screw
  4. Same on the other side

Step 3: Electronics

  1. Lay out the layout of the parts and check the length of the wires, then follow the picture (or do it by your own)
  2. Now you can super glue the switch and connector

That's it, now plug in the power and test it !!!
