The Rhineland Palatinate “dubbe” is a glass for wine or wine spritzer (mix of wine and mineralwater) . The name “Dubbe” comes through the round indentations that adorn the glass.

Step 1: The Goal

Inspired by this design and my wifes desire for a new bartable for the garden, I wondered if you could not combine both.

Step 2: Step 2: Gather Tools and Materials

- Idea

- Template (real glass or internet images)

- Some mathematical understanding to draw the flat pattern of the sheet metal

- Sheet metal - I used ground stainless steel in 2mm to avoid rework and after-treatment (rust protection by painting or galvanizing)

- Round machine roller or a lot of force or thinner material

- welding machine

- Angle grinder and a lot of patience while grinding

- Tin snips ,handplasmaccutter, holesaw or local laser company

Step 3: Step 3: Planning

Help with the sheet metal processing can be found on the internet or you have the appropriate CAD-software that supports one. Here is the quick sketch of me. I also attached the dwg for you

Step 4: Step 4: Production

Cut your sketch out of sheetmetal or lasercut from a company. As mentioned earlier, i used stainless steel in 2 millimeter thickness.

Roll or press plates until a cone results . Weld the cone and then clean the weld and sand it with patience. Alternatively, you can also overlap the ending of the sheetmetal to rivet or screw it.

Measure on the finished cone and cut the bottom and lid. Staple in or screw in both disks.

Set the floor slightly higher to ensure a secure footing.

I put the lid deepened.

Depending on your taste, you can later place a wooden plate or use the recess as a slip-off protection.

You can also illuminate the table from the inside, for example, or deposit the cutouts with colored acrylic glass
