Intro: Get Spotify Music on Mac
This tutorial will teach you how to get music from Spotify for free.
STEP 1: What You Need:
You will need these pieces of software (and hardware):
- An Apple Mac with an Intel chip.
- Mac OS X 10.6 or later.
- Audacity from: http:///www.audacity.sourceforge.net/
- Soundflower from: http://www.rogueamoeba.com/freebies/soundflower/
- A Spotify Free or Premium account: It doesn't matter if you use the desktop player or the web player.
STEP 2: Step 1
Open Audacity. Set the input to Soundflower (2ch). Open Soundflowerbed (in the Soundflower folder) and for the Soundflower (2ch) section, click on Built-In Output. This will let you hear the song while you record it. Now find the song you want in Spotify and get ready to play it. Go to System Preferences and go to 'sound'. Set the input and output to 'Soundflower (2ch)'.
STEP 3: Step 2:
Now we're ready to get the song. Open Audacity. When you've opened Audacity. Now click the red 'record' button up the top left. As soon as you've clicked it, press play on the Spotify song. It will start recording in Audacity.
STEP 4: Step 3: Exporting
Now that we have recorded our song, we need to make it into a music file that we can listen to. In order to do this, we need to go to File>Export Audio. Then it will prompt you to choose an audio format and name. Type in the name of the song and select the audio format you want.
STEP 5: Step 4: Metadata
When you click the 'save' button, it will prompt you for metadata. If you don't know, metadata is a part of the file that will tell iTunes or your preferred media player the name of the son, the artist and so on. Once you have clicked OK, it will then export to the folder you selected!
STEP 6: Finished!
Once you have done the steps, you can open the music you made in your media player of choice! Enjoy your Music!

I found this tutorial works well on my Mac. Simple and the download speed is quite fast.

The tutorial is much complicated, actually you can use one piece of software to do that. With iMoresoft Audio Recorder, you can directly record audio from streaming services like Spotify. Here is the tutorial on how to do that: http://www.imoresoft.com/audio-recorder-mac.html

I actually know of those programs, and they are some of the worst programs to use. They try to get you to spend lots of money to use their service. That is why I use only free software in my tutorial.
