Introduction: Giant Bait Shop Yard Deco
I have always loved fishing and the look and feel of a cool cabin type lodge so I built one. I Hope you like it . Like I said never did a instructable before and most of this was random measurements I had no plans just random stuff all added together. You should always remember to use safe practices when using tools.
NEEDED
HAMMER
SAW
WOOD
SCREW-DRIVER
PAINT
STAPLE GUN
Screws 1 ½ sheet rock and 3” screws and deck nails
SORRY IF THIS IS HARD TO FOLLOW ITS MY FIRST INSTRUCTABLE
I was looking at all those fancy birdhouses and got the idea , Why not one BIGGER much BIGGER Mine stands about 4ft tall Its not a bird house but a backyard decoration. Heck it could be a doghouse but mine is just for looks and my personal enjoyment. I used all scrap wood that I had laying around old fence pieces which are perfect for the shack walls. I did buy the round pole type wood at the big home improvement place for around 6 bucks
ALSO YOU NEED TO LOOK AT YOUR CITY OR STATE LAWS FOR HOW TALL THIS STRUCTURE CAN BE, AND I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR INJURIES YOU GET WHILE MAKING THIS.
Step 1: The Base
Step 2: Front and Rear Walls
now take 2-- 2 x4’s the length of base of the front and rear of the shack and position on deck as to put rear all the back and front one in a way to leave a deck (PORCH) in front of the shack. I used 3 inch screws to fasten to the deck . BE CAREFUL on screws you use as if they go through and you have animals they could get hurt going under deck. make sure they dont go through. Take the rear panel and place on deck in rear and screw into 2x4 that is on deck. Have someone hold that, while you screw in front panel. Now measure the space between rear and front panels that’s the width, take a 2 x4 screw near the top. Your helper isn’t needed now and it should be stable enough for you to secure . Now you can cut sides to fit and nail in. I ran 1x 2 along roof line of front and rear panels of shack that way I could fasten roof
don’t worry about exact dimensions because it adds to the look be a little off I didn’t measure almost anything except front and rear and roof.
Step 3: Roof
The roof was very easy just take some thin ¼ inch and cut to dimension of roof line on shack and screw into front and rear panels I took ¼ ply and cut all shingles with random cuts start at bottom and screw each one in working my way to the top. That green circle thing you see is a tiki solar light. At night it flickers the inside like a lantern is on.
