Introduction: Giant Pancake in a Rice Cooker
Normal thin pancakes are boring (as is making them in a pan)!
Make some giant pancakes using your rice cooker!
Step 1: Gather Ingredients & Mix
For the (basic) recipe you will need:
- Flour (275g / 2 cups )
- Sugar (50g / ¼ cup)
- Baking powder (3½ teaspoons)
- Salt (1 teaspoon)
- Eggs (2)
- Milk (360ml / 1½ cups)
- Melted unsalted butter (55g / ¼ cup)
In a large bowl, combine the dry ingredients, in a separate (smaller) bowl whisk together the wet ones. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ones and whisk the mix until it has formed an even consistency.
If you are afraid of the pancake sticking, lightly rub the the bowl of the rice cooker with oil.
Step 2: Cook
Pour the batter into the rice cooker and start it. You want the pancake to be golden-brown at the bottow.
I had to bake it for approximately 60 minutes until that was the case. If you want you can flip it in between to brown both sides.
Step 3: Enjoy!
Turn the giant pancake out onto a plate, slice and serve with (maple) syrup and/or fruit!

Great recipe, I used the brown rice setting because you said three hours. I had to restart it 3 times even though the manual said it would cook for 1 hour straight. It was so big and fluffy that it crumbled when I tried to flip it to brown the other side. I will use the normal rice setting next time. But it is super tasty!! Thank you for the recipe.

Hi, I used the normal rice setting, but restarted it after it ended a few times. Leave it in until it is golden-brown.
