Introduction: Give Anyone an EyeDrive Using GIMP

About: Hi, I'm Olivia, or you may say I'm spectacular. I love music, I play guitar and sing as well as playing a little ukulele, piano and whatever else I can :) I also draw and love to create art.

So maybe you're a Dr Who freak.

Maybe you are secretly terrified of forgetting *gasp* The Silence.

Or maybe you just want to add an instant cool factor to any front on photograph of either yourself or maybe one of your companions.

If any of these apply to you, then this is the instructable that you are after.

Enjoy.

Step 1: Find Your Suitable Resources

First of all, you have to find some materials!

To make any photo of any person INSTANTLY awesome, you will need:

- A computer with GIMP installed
- A photograph of somebody with an EyeDrive. Google images is very useful here. You probably want to find a face on photo (this one of Madame Kovarian in the wall is the one that i used)
- A photograph of the EyeDrive-ee, also front on.

Just for the fun of it, lets start with Justin Bieber.

Step 2: Remove EyeDrive

First of all we are going to 'borrow' the EyeDrive from this evil kidnapper.

Open your image of Madame Kovarian in GIMP.

You need to crop your image so that it is only about the size of the eyedrive.

Then, go to Layer - Transparency - Add Alpha Channel to make our eraser tool make things go invisible

Erase all around the EyeDrive until you have a nice smooth eye on a transparent background.

Now we need to save this! Save it as something that you will remember, and save it as a .png

This will keep the layers

Step 3: Remember

Now it is time to give the gift of memory!

Open the image of the person that you wish to give an EyeDrive in GIMP

Go to File - Open As Layers then open the image that you had of an EyeDrive

Now you simply resize it so that it is of an appropriate size

And you are done!

Step 4: What to Do With Your Image

Now that you have this amazing photo, so what do you do with it?

- Use as your avatar
- Email to everybody you know
- Post on your blog

Just have fun!

And spread the memories :)
