Introduction: Google Classroom Set-Up

To create your Google Classroom class, you first go to Google.com.

Then you will click on the nine dots, or waffle, in the top right-hand corner.

You will then click on Google Classroom.

Step 1: Google Classroom Set-Up

Click on the plus sign in the top right-hand corner and click "create class."

Step 2: Google Classroom Set-Up

Name your class, section, subject, or room if applicable, and then click "create."

Step 3: Google Classroom Set-Up

You will be brought to the home page of your classroom. From here, click on "people" at the top of the screen.

Step 4: Google Classroom Set-Up

From here, you will be able to add co-teachers and students. Click on the plus sign under the student tag to add your students.

Step 5: Google Classroom Set-Up

Students can join your classroom either through a Google Classroom link or by you, as the teacher, entering their student emails.

Step 6: Google Classroom Set-Up

Another way students can join your classroom is by entering the class code. This is a much easier and less time-consuming approach that I would highly recommend.

Step 7: Google Classroom Set-Up

After you have added your students, we will begin creating our classes or subjects. At the top of the screen, click on "classwork." From here, we will begin creating our "topics."

Step 8: Google Classroom Set-Up

Click on the large plus sign. You will see an array of things that can be done here, but we are going to worry about creating our organization. Click on the "topic" tab.

Step 9: Google Classroom Set-Up

After you have clicked on the "topic" tab and created the tab, you will see that everything you create under "Reading" will now appear under reading!

Step 10: Google Classroom Set-Up

Go back to the "stream" tab, and you are now ready to being using Google Classroom! :)
