Introduction: Grilled Butter Onions
There are so many different types of things you can grill, but why not stick to the classic - onions? Just because onions may seem boring doesn't mean that the cooking method has to be. In this instructable, we'll be wrapping onion bowls filled with butter with aluminum foil and setting them over your desired heat source - preferably a grill or fireplace; an oven will do nicely as well.

Step 1: Ingredients
Ingredients:
2 large sweet onions
6 tablespoons butter
Pepper
Step 2: Cut Them
Cut the onions in half, and scoop out the middle so that the onion becomes like a bowl. Cut wedges through most of the onion, making sure to not cut through the bottom of the onion, which would let all the butter drain out.
Step 3: Butter It
Add the butter to the middle of the onion, and pepper if so desired. Wrap in a single solid sheet of aluminum foil to prevent butter drippings.
Step 4: Options + Enjoy!
Onions aren't picky. And there are multiple options for how to cook them.
One is to grill them. Another is to bake them. Another (the one I chose) was to put them on top of a fireplace. Your choice. Just make sure that heat is being evenly distributed, and make sure the butter doesn't drip into the fireplace - especially if it's a fake fireplace.
Either way, you can bake at 400 degrees for about an hour, or grill them for the same period of time, or fireplace them for around the same amount of time. Just make sure the onion is soft and brownish and tender.
Devour.
