Guitar Pick Fly Button!

Intro: Guitar Pick Fly Button!

Yeah. so my button broke a few months ago in Moab. I substituted a bit of plastic bottle, but the thread broke again after i put them in the wash this morning, and i lost the piece. So i needed a new button.

I'm a musician. Drummer, Trombonist, Violinist, self-taught bassist and the one that applies to this particular instructable; Beginning guitarist.

I had a bunch of cheap picks lying around and it dawned on me. GUITAR PICK FLY BUTTON!

STEP 1: Gather Materials and Tools.

Materials:
-x1 (or however many you need) guitar pick.
-x1 tack nail
-Thread (not pictured)
-broken pants or something with button(s). The nice thing about this is the fact that it is adaptable to any sort of fabric good that needs a button.

Tools:
-x1 Zippo lighter or other source of flame/heat
-x1 pliers
-x1 needle for sewing. (not pictured)

STEP 2: Light Up and Heat Up.

Light up your zippo and stand it up like a bunsen burner. Take your pliers and pick up the nail. Hold it in the flame 'til it's hot. (Careful, don't burn yourself) Then take the nail and poke two holes in the pick so it becomes a button! you may have to re heat the nail a few times to get through, depending on how thick the pick is.

STEP 3: Sew and Enjoy!

Now thread your needle and sew it on!

Look at how much cooler your pants are with the button you just made!

So creative!! Ive made bracelets, earrings, charms, and other things out of picks, but I would have never of thought to make buttons out of them!! Great instructable:D
you should make it detachable so if you need one in pinch, it'll be right there with you
sir, I ACCEPT YOUR CHALLENGE!
upon further review, that would be a bad idea because then your pants would fall off
we'll see about that. (evil grin)
Actually, what you should do... is make a button, that holds your pick, so when you need the pick, you can just detach it from the "button"

and btw, I like your EPIC bump on this comment

=]
that or carry a knife around with you all the time though some places not smartest to have one...
How about using jazz picks? Like those purply seethrough Jim Dunlops
Hey this is really cool! Next time my fiance (<-how exactly do you spell that?) asks me to fix his pants...I might have to do this. Just for giggles.
