In this instructable, you will learn how to reassemble a basic desktop PC. This computer is very basic and not the latest PC. It should not take more than two to three hours to reassemble the computer.

Step 1: SAFETY GUIDELINES

Fully shut down and unplug the computer before you begin
Take off any metal objects from your arms and fingers
Hands are completely dry to avoid any damages to the mechanical parts
Work in a cool area to avoid perspiration
be careful touching the motherboard, very pointy and may hurt you
HANDLE ALL PARTS WITH CARE

Step 2: Materials Needed

To be successful in this project, you will need:

Screwdriver (for slotted and Philips head screws) You should use a ground strap as well to keep yourself safe :)That is literally all you will need, just to put back your PC!

Step 3: Prepare Motherboard

Make sure your motherboard is all ready to go and prepared because it will be going back to the PC first! First of all, connect the expansion card to the motherboard's riser.

Step 4:

Now we will ascend the CPU in the socket of the main board. There are different types of CPU, depends on which computer you are working with. Be careful with not installing the CPU in incorrectly. Your computer won't work but it could also cause a short circuit and damage the motherboard.

Step 5:

Next step is to attach the CPU cooler to the Mainboard/motherboard.

Step 6:

Attach the Random Access Memory module in the matching slots. In the mainboard, there are rows of slots that have two or three areas that are different lengths. Also, be completely sure the pins on the RAM cards match up with the pins on the motherboard connector. The PCI slots are identical with the RAM slots, don't mix the two up. The PCI slots are wider!

Step 7:

Open up the PC case and mount the power supply. Connect all of the connections to the motherboard

and the hard drives.

Step 8:

Attach the Mainboard to the back plate of the computer case and check the Mainboard's positions. Properly position the mainboard in the PC and start screwing!

Step 9:

Place the Hard disk and attach the hard disk to the power supply and the motherboard. There should be a different connections for the power supply and mainboard. In SATA hard disk case, should remove the jumper cable.

Step 10:

The drives should be connected with the SATA connectors and the USB connectors should connect to the motherboard.

Step 11:

Now connect the 20 or 24 pin ATX connector and the 4-pin power supply control connector to the motherboard.

Step 12:

Place the DVD -ROM drive. After connecting the ATA cable to the device, hook it up to the power supply.
