Intro: Hacked IPhone Birthday Cake

I made this cake for my husbands 27th birthday.  He's a HUGE Apple fanatic and at the time we both had jailbroken iPhones on the TMobile network... So I made this cake to replicate his phone.
The date = his age.

Needless to say he loved it and didn't want to cut into it.
Inside was vanilla cake with vanilla custard & fresh strawberry filling.

Made entirely on my own using fondant on the outside to create the icons and phone.

there is no such thing as jailbreaking on the t-mobile network. I think you mean unlocking. Jailbreaking means u can use cool tweaks on your iphone and unlocking means you can change the network from att

Thanks JHK for the breakdown. It was both jailbroken AND unlocked. we used our iPhones on the Tmo network AND were able to customize our phones.

That is awesome! How did you get the fondant that true black? Did it come pre colored? or did you tint yourself? I havent had good luck getting fondant to a true black, its always sort of grayish.

this is an awesome idea! I have some friends that work at Apple and i think they would appreciate an iphone cake!

Angela- I actually bought it brown and tinted it black. It took lots of food coloring. Black fondant is really a pain! :)
