Intro: Hair Gel + LED = Light

Hair gel is an excellent optical path. Bubbles create surprising tracery. Such source of illumination can be used somehow.

I'd like to do something similar but for a more permanent sealed lamp. Do you know if the hair gel will "go bad" or spoil over time? If so, anyone have any ideas on an alternative concoction that would last for years?

Acually i have a test tube with hair gel in it for 6 months or so, it hasnt gone off, its dried out a little when its spread thinly, but it seems to be fine,

Margerine would work(Stick in a garage for six months, no mould) unfortunately its yellow....

ye but you have still only filled syringes with her gel and put a led in it with a cd as a holder led`s in the neck of a person would look better, c how u go on with that should have just put led`s in the pot of gel or was that you 1`st idea that would look better .....

it would be helfull if you could not just do it as a video, for people with laggy internet that takes ages to load viddos.. Anyway its prety cool, im gonna try it!

Yeah, How did you hook them up with your music? They all go to different parts, like the blue one went to the bass and the others to other parts. Howd you do that? Anyway Nice Tut! I added it to favorites and I might actually try it out sometime.
