Harry Potter is maybe one of the best stories ever written! I love the pages of these books, and wanted them to the grace the walls of a room in my home. So I set about making that happen, come see how I turned 10 dollars into my Harry Potter Wall.

Step 1: You Will Need

This process is a wonderful and easy way to make book pages take on new life as wallpaper! I found the entire harry potter series used at a Library bookstore for a dollar a piece ! Here is what you will need!

Used Harry Potter pages (varying sizes can be fun)
Corn Starch
Water
Pot
Whisk
Paint Brush (foam is best)

Step 2: Make Wall Paper Adhesive

This adhesive is so easy to make! It also cost pennies to create AND if you ever wanted to take this wallpaper down, simply wet with water and remove. Amazing!

3 Tbs. Cornstarch
1/4 Cup cold water
3-3/4 Cup tap water

Bring 3-3/4 Cup tap water to a boil. While the water is boiling you are going to mix the cornstarch with 1/4 cup water until it is completely dissolved (whisking helps prevent lumps) Once the water comes to a complete boil, you will mix in the cornstarch mixture. Remove from the heat and let cool.

Step 3: Measure and Collect Pages

Depending on the size of the wall you want covered, you can guesstimate how many pages you need. For my wall it was approximately 400. You can pick and choose your favorites, or just go with whatever you wish.

Say your wall is 9 ft high and 14 feet long, So it's 126 total square feet right?

So then figure out how many pages fit in one square foot (usually 4)

Then you would multiply that number by your total= 126 X 4 = 504

So you need roughly 504 pages to cover your wall (plan you 20 extra, just in case you don't like a few of them)

Step 4: Adhere Pages to Wall

The clean up for this process is minimal, so I don't even lay anything out, but you could lay an old sheet or towel on your floor if you wanted to.

Brush some of the clear paste on the wall
Add page to wall
Cover page with more paste.
You want it saturated but not runny

Step 5: Just Keep Going!

Just keep adding pages as you go. I find that it's easiest to start in one corner and move up and over, but I really don't think you can go wrong. Don't worry if the pages look a little wrinkled as they dry, The end result is NOT wrinkled! It may be slightly bumpy depending on the texture of your wals.

NOTE

Be sure and research your wall texture before trying this.

It's only water and cornstarch so I doubt it could have a bad reaction to any paint finish, but you never know, so be sure and know what kind of wall finish you have first, just to be safe.

Step 6: Enjoy Your Masterpiece!

This wall could serve as a child's themed room, an eccentric library or really whatever! My Aunt has a Harry Potter themed bathroom (Under the Stairs) That would be perfect for this!
