Introduction: Heartpuzzle

Do you want to propose to your darling with an surprise, maybe our heartpuzzle is right for you :-)

It is an wooden puzzle. you can pull out the red hearts. On the top is an engraved heart with the text "Do you know what I love about you?

Under the red hearts you can read "your eyes", "your mouth", "your hair", "everything"
And under the biggest red heart the final question "Will you marry me?"

Hearts which comes from your heart.

Step 1: Design

We made our design with inkscape, because for the lasercut you will need vectorgraphic.

Step 2: Engrave the Top

Now it is time to start the process. We use a 4mm plywood, then the final puzzle is not too thick.

If you don't have access to an lasercutter you can also use your classic jigsaw.



Step 3: Cut Out the Hearts

And then cut out the hearts.



Step 4: Engrave the Inside Text

The same with the bottom.



Step 5: Paint It

For a better looking, we finished it with a glaze.

Step 6: Glue on the Knobs

For a better handling, we glue little knobs on the hearts.

Step 7: Finish the Hearts

The hearts must be red :-) We used an fast drying paint.

Step 8: Glue Top and Bottom Together

Now you can glue the bottom and top plate together, just use a thin film of glue.

Step 9: Fix It

To fix them together we used strong spring clamp, but you can use any kind of weight.

Step 10: Finish

Now it is finished. Your sweetheart can pull out each heart and finally the big heart.

Step 11: Waiting for the Answere

The final question "Will you marry me?" Hope the answer is right.

In our case it was the right one ;-)

    Great job, but the question should be WILL you. WOULD kinda sends off the vibe of "sometime in the future, but not right now".

    Nice on!
    Schöne Arbeit aber ohne Lasergravierer schwer nachzumachen.
    Fällt daher ehr in die Kategorie: "show and tell" anstatt DIY.

    Aufs ergebniss bin ich gespannt!
