Intro: High Speed Gaming Laptop

Hi

Friends,

Today I will show you how to make the most powerful and high-speed pocket-sized laptop with inbuilt Windows 10 operating system at your home. In this article, I will give you all the information so you can build this at your home easily without the need for any help.

Our future will be high speed so in this future you need portable high speed and mini laptop to work anywhere.

For this, I make one homemade and very simple for all student and people to make this pocket-sized laptop.

This laptop has 4 GB Ram & 64 GB Internal Storage and can be expandable up to 128 GB memory card. It has 3 USB Port, 1 HDMI Port, and LAN Slot.

Don't worry about any cost of this mini gaming laptop. The cost of a gaming laptop is very cheap around 100$.

If any high school student or college student is planning to make this laptop for science fair projects than its a great and creative idea. As per my opinion, you can also win the price in competition.

In my Instructables profile having more than 25 detailed projects so you can go through that for a more creative and awesome idea. That will enhance your creative mind as you grow.

STEP 1: Material

You need mainly two product to make any computer. One is CPU and second is a Monitor. In this making of a laptop, we need a microcontroller circuit board and IPS display.

For microcontroller circuit board we choose Lattepanda v1.0 and for display 7-inch IPS Display working only for lattepanda circuits.

Visit This Website For More Project different type of projects.

Science fair projects

DIY Arduino Projects

We need below products:

  1. Lattepanda v1.0
  2. 7 Inch IPS display
  3. 18650 battery for portable use
  4. Data cable
  5. Plastic box
  6. Wifi\bluetooth antenna(come with Latteanda)

Lattepanda v1.0

LattePanda is a single-board computer project that has achieved funding on Kickstarter and that will delight users who like these mini-PCs that have the Raspberry as the great banner.

LattePanda is quite powerful for what these developments tend to offer, based on a quad-core Intel Atom processor at 1.8 GHz, 2 or 4 Gbytes of RAM and 32/64 Gbytes of internal storage capacity.

It has WI-FI, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 3.0 port, USB 2.0 port, LAN, HDMI, microSD, micro USB, audio or connector for plug & play sensors, plus the plus of an Arduino-compatible processor on the board.

Pre-install a full version of Windows 10 and tools such as Visual Studio, NodeJS or Java. Beyond programming, those in charge of LattePanda say that their board executes Office applications, HD video or other Windows applications with the same experience as a standard PC.

7 Inch IPS Display

This 7-inch IPS LCD monitor with a high resolution of 1024 × 600 pixels supports the operation of the keys and the remote control. It is protected by a box with a support that is made of high-quality black acrylic.

The monitor will support different video input interfaces such as HDMI, VGA and AV (CVBS). In addition, an HDMI cable is included so you can start the screen quickly and conveniently. With the keys on the monitor backward, you can choose to control the screen by pressing the keys or use the remote control "adjust its contrast or color. It is designed with fixing holes in the back, which support the assembly of Raspberry Pi 3 model B, 2 model B, 1 model B + / A + / B, etc.

Package included:-

  • 1 x 7 inches IPS monitor
  • 1 12V / 1A power adapter
  • 1 x Remote control
  • 1 x HDMI cable
  • 1 x Operation Guide

* The 7-inch IPS LCD monitor with a high resolution of 1024 × 600 pixels supports key operation and remote control

* The IPS display presents a wide visual angle, fast response speed, and accurate color reproduction

* Supports multiple video input interfaces: HDMI, VGA and AV (CVBS); audio support

* Includes 3 pieces of transparent acrylic plate in different colors to protect the Raspberry Pi

* Equipped with reserved fixing holes for control panels - suitable for Raspberry Pi 3 model B, 2 model B, and 1 model B +

STEP 2: Assembly

First of all, we assemble this laptop outside of a box because we want to know it works or not.

For this, we give a direct power supply through powerband or charger.

1. Take Lattepanda circuit board and connect wifi/Bluetooth antenna to socket.

2. Take display and connect the pin to a circuit board (black side pin is the upside)

3.Connect USB cable to this circuit board to give power supply.

STEP 3: Start System

To start this system press power button and red light glowing.

When red light off after 10-second repress power button and red light glow again and lattepanda boot.

After some time you can see Windows 10 dashboard on display,

You can work anything on this laptop which you can work on Laptop. You can play a game, connect wifi, install software, surfing any website and youtube, play video and music, etc.

STEP 4: Now Setup in Pocket Sized Box

Take one pocket size plastic box.I used 16(length) X 10(width) X 2(height) centimeter plastic box. Stick 7 Inch IPS display on the cap of a plastic box using glue. After stick, you need to give 5 minutes to perfect bond.

STEP 5: Assembly

Then stick Lattepanda v1.0 to a base of the plastic box and connect 7 inch IPS display.

STEP 6: Chargeable Power Supply

For making laptop portable you want to give chargeable power supply.

I give 18650 model of 3.7-volt 10amp battery. You can not directly give 10amp power to circuit board because it works only maximum 2 amp. For this, you need one charging module which supports 18650 battery and gives less than 2 amp output.

I received this charging module from the old power bank and connect the positive and negative poles of a battery to the charging module. It has no switch to On/Off there for I connect a switch between data cable and connect to the output of charging module.

STEP 7: Assembly of Power Supply

Stick power supply assembly and connect to Lattepanda v1.0.

STEP 8: Making Frame

Take one black paper frame for display to look better and stick on display. Then take the black acrylic base for keyboard and place on the box.

STEP 9: Enjoy !

Power on a laptop and enjoy your portable laptop.

This is a really awesome project, but does it cost much? I wanted to build a laptop using seedunio XIAO, but that is a long term goal.
you could do it with a LattePanda Alpha or Delta, then it would be better, but you would also need the eDP for the alpha/delta. the delta is below. by the way, I like your instructable.
It is good men 😊. But a question that for all this materials I needed 12000 rupees
Can you add an additional battery connected to each other to give more power?
that is so so cool and awsome i would use it
I think this board is very under rated, and is often compared to a standard pc wich I think is not fair, is not powerful like a pc but you can do a lot more than a RaspberryPi. I'm currently working on a handheld using a 5" display, emulators, indies, and 7th gen steam games so far.
make the most powerful and high-speed pocket-sized laptop....

Kind of like saying the most powerful and high speed Pontiac Aztek money can buy. It's a good instructable don't get me wrong, but the wording is kind dodgy on this one.

Powerful gaming laptops have multiple core cpu's (i-7 Skylake for example), run multi core Nvidia GPU cards, and have the fastest LPDDR5 Dram for instance. All served by SSD. And. All nicely water cooled to boot.

Cute toy..at best. But, hardly a gaming laptop.
Dodgy just like what he makes, his instructables are fraudulent!!!! You can tell in this video he so called "made" a mini pc (https://www.instructables.com/id/MINI-LAPTOP/) look at the screen in the video @3:55 you'll be able to see that he super imposed a video of the him using google over the lid of the mini pc (look carefully at the edges & you'll see what I'm talking about)
Not everyone is a high end gamer - my XP machine (a Compaq that I bought maybe 16 years ago) still qualifies as a gaming machine. And despite is old age, it still sees some action....

Still, I'd like to know what games are being run on this. It's a cool project.

As we all agree, it's a "good instructable" and a "cool project." Tercero was just pointing out that this computer (like yours) does not fit the title description of "high-speed gaming" laptop.
So, before anyone builds this with the intention of gaming i just want to say this. This is not a "High Speed Gaming Laptop" and not by a long shot. this little machine could however be usefull for emailing and some light internet browsing.
Would this be suitable to use for streaming media? Was thinking that this is small enough to hide behind my tv and it’s cheap too.
yes, of course.
This device was made to use windows system portable. I also use this system for my projector making smart.
Thx for the help. I’ll be getting one of these. Just wish they’d had these years ago. Was IT tech for many years. Great instructable.
One of the best projects I've seen. A good gaming laptop and most of all a versatile equipment that you can use everywhere you are when you need a gadget that can go on line, use it for astronomy photos, look for recipes or search the web for facts.
