Introduction: Holiday Closet Makeover

About: Love to sew, quilt, cross-stitch, and scrapbook. Etsy shop owner and Amazon book seller

Last year I was bemoaning the fact that I cannot decorate with throw pillows and stuffed animals because my dogs think they are chew toys. I decided to make my small hallway linen closet my "Christmas Closet," where I could enjoy these decorations yet keep them out of reach. After the holidays I decided to dedicate this closet to Christmas linens, stockings, and pillows so I can get a bit of holiday cheer throughout the year!

Supplies

  • Seasonal Linens--tablecloths, napkins, hand towels
  • Throw Pillows
  • Stuffed Animals
  • Cleaning supplies (vacuum, duster)

Step 1: Prep the Closet

  • Remove all items from the closet
  • Start a donation box with items no longer being used
  • Relocate items that don't belong to a different closet or drawer
  • Dust and wipe down all shelves
  • Vacuum the floor

Step 2: Organize Items

Now comes the fun part!

    • Arrange pillows and stuffed animals on upper shelves
    • Stack tablecloths, napkins, mats, and table runners
    • Use one shelf for seasonal pictures, wall hangings, and stockings
    • Use the lowest shelf for other holiday linens
    • Hang one or more decorations on inside of door if desired
    • Place cleaning supplies on the floor for easy access to hallway bath
