We get about 15 fruit crates a week from the organic shop filled with leaf trimmings and bits of fruit and vegetable debris for the chickens. I use the thicker quality pine in various projects but the rest goes for kindling. Taking them apart is a real pain, our friend, who has a whole load of them on his farm has resulted to jumping up and down on them!
This is an exercise in making a fruit-crate-cutting guillotine for free and purely from scrap, to exercise my brain and see what I can come up with.

Nous recevons environ 15 cagettes par semaine à partir de la boutique bio rempli de garnitures feuilles et des morceaux de débris de fruits et légumes pour les poules. J'utilise le pin épais de qualité dans différents projets, mais le reste est pour l'embrasement. Les démonter est un travail pénible, notre ami, qui a un tas d'entre eux sur son exploitation a permis de sauter de haut en bas sur eux!
Il s'agit d'un exercice à faire une guillotine coupe-cagettes gratuitement et uniquement à partir de déchets, d'exercer mon cerveau et voir ce que je peux trouver.
Recibimos 15 cajas de naranjas a la semana que vienen de la tienda orgánica y están llenas de hojas y frutos dañados y vegetales que alimentan a los pollos. Yo uso el pino de calidad más gruesa en varios proyectos, pero el resto va para leña. Romper para arriba es un dolor real, nuestro amigo, que tiene un montón de ellos en su finca ha dado lugar a saltar arriba y abajo en ellos!
Este es un ejercicio para hacer una guillotina caja de naranjas para cortar de forma gratuita y exclusivamente a partir de chatarra, para ejercitar mi cerebro y ver lo que puede diseñar.

This is a very good idea! I have in the attic of the workshop all necessary materials. Surely you could cut some thin iron rods, too. Thanks for post it.

Thanks for watching and commenting, much appreciated. I think you would need to modify the blade to cut metal because what I used is only made from mild steel but if you have something more robust with a higher carbon content, I don't see why not. I think it is a great exercise for the brain to try and work with what you have to hand and I really needed a solution to chopping up these fruit crates - they were beginning to take over!!
