Introduction: Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies

This is a simple recipe for an amature baker! These mouth watering cookies are quick and easy to make and a perfect treat for any time!

Preheat oven: 375°
Bake time: 9-11 minutes
Overall Time: 35 minutes

Step 1: To Start Gather Your Ingredients and Materials

Ingredients:
2 1/4 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
2 sticks of soften butter
3/4 cups sugar
3/4 cups of brown sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 eggs
2 cups of chocolate chips

Materials:
Two large bowls
Measuring cups
Mixing spoon
Electric hand mixer (optional—you can mix by hand)
Baking tray and sheet
Baking spatula

Step 2: Wet Ingredients

Start by mixing your room temperature butter, until it is fluffy and light. Next add in both white and brown sugar. Mix until most of the chunks are out and it is a smooth consistency. Next mix in one egg, add the other and the vanilla extract once the first egg is fully incorporated. Set this mixture aside.

Step 3: Dry Ingredients

In the second bowl mix together the dry ingredients: flour, baking soda and salt. Once you are sure everything is mixed, start to add the dry ingredients to the wet. Slowly add in the dry ingredients into the wet ones a little at a time. Once the dry are fully incorporated in the wet ingredients, scrape the sides of the bowl with a baking spatula to make sure nothing is left unmixed.

Step 4: Time to Bake

Mix in the chocolate chips and you are ready to go! On the baking sheet place twelve golf sized chunks of the dough spaced out. There are various methods to scopping, you can use a spoon, an ice cream scoop or even your hands. Whatever you find to be the easiest for you! I like to use a spoon. Once the cookies are spaced out, place them in the oven for 12 minutes. Depending on whether you want soft or crunchy cookies add or subtract a minute or two. Check periodically on your cookies because some ovens work faster than others!

Step 5: Enjoy

Pull the cookies out of the oven and let them cool for a few minutes! Pour yourself a glass of milk and eat up! Share with friends and family or eat them all yourself!!
