Delicious and velvety homemade cream of chicken that can replace the can with ease.

Cook Time 15 minutes Servings 3 cups

Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp Butter
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 4 Flour
  • 2 cups Chicken Broth
  • 1 tsp Poultry Seasoning
  • 1 tsp Celery Salt
  • 1 tsp White Pepper
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream

Spoon or Ladle

Mason Jar with lid (if making for use later)

Step 1: Make the Roux

In a saucepan over medium heat, add butter and garlic powder. Once melted, whisk in flour, let cook for 2 minutes.

Step 2: Add the Flavor

Whisk in chicken broth and let cook for 2 minutes. Then whisk in poultry seasonings, celery salt, white pepper, and salt.

Step 3: Make It Creamy

Whisk in heavy cream and let cook for 2 minutes more. Reduce heat to low and let simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Use in a recipe right away or transfer to a mason jar, let cool completely before securing the lid. Keep in refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Use as a replacement for any recipe that calls for canned cream of chicken.
