Homemade Hanging Light With Edison Bulbs

Here i made a rustic looking hanging light with black chains and edison bulbs. Made from reclaimed wood and an old pine shelfing as side pieces. Stained with a dark oak stainer.

Supplies

What you need is to first measure out how long the lamp i gona be and also how long from the ceiling is it going to hang. You can also choose how many bulbs are you going to use. I chose 4 bulbs and the lamp is just about 1m long.

I used:

4x E37 sockets

4x edison bulbs 2300k

2m black chain

8x screw hooks

1x 1m reclaimed wood

2x 1m pine pieces

Step 1: Cutting and Staining

Cut the wood at chosen lenght. I also screwd in some side pieces to hide some damage + make it a bit uniqe. Here you should also and the planks then stain it.

Step 2: Drilling Holes

When the piece is stained you can cut out holes where you want the bulbs to be. I just picked a bit random no measuring but you may do it another way. Also here you will add some screw hooks for the chains to be connected to the ceiling. Make sure to pre drill the holes so you dont get any splitting of the wood.

Step 3: Connecting the Bulbs

I don't have picture of this step. But here you will use the E27 bulb sockets in the holes you drilled out. Be careful when connecting the electric cables to the sockets. If you are unsure how to do this you should ask an electrician for help. This step is important not to mess up
