Introduction: Homemade Simple Crackers
This is an extremely simple recipe for homemade crackers! Perfect for cheese or dips. Good with soup, too.
Step 1: Ingredients and Tools
Ingredients:
2 cups of flour
1.5 Tablespoons of olive oil
1 cup milk
1 Tablespoon salt
4 onces of cream cheese (half a block)
The cream cheese is optional, but worth it!
Tools:
Mixer, measuring spoon & cups, rolling pin, fork, pizza cutter or knife,, and large circle stoneware ( I guess you could use a cookie sheet instead, but I prefer the stoneware)
Step 2: Pat It!
Mix all the ingredients until you have a soft, sticky batter.
Step 3: Roll It!
First put a little bit of flour on your stoneware, transfer the dough and roll it out really thin. You will need to put some more flour on top of the dough before rolling it. If you want, use your hands and work it like a pizza crust. The thinner you roll the dough the better. Just don't roll it so thin that its transparent.
Step 4: Mark With A...
Cut off any over hang, poke holes using the fork and cut the dough into squares using the pizza cutter.
Step 5: Put It in the Oven
Put it in a 400degree oven for about 15-25 minutes or until it just starts to turn golden brown. The thinner you rolled it, the shorter the baking time. When its done it should look like this. The end result is a light, crisp cracker. You should be able to get 3 pans with this recipe.
