Homopolar Motor

How to make a homopolar motor.

Step 1: Gather Your Materials

In order to make this project you will need a battery, wire, and magnets

Step 2: Cut of the Plastic Coating on the Wire

Hold the wire perpendicular to the knife and cut off the coating.

Step 3: Attach the Magnets to the Bottom of Your Magnet

When you attach the magnets to the bottom make sure the magnets will not make your magnet topple over. The more magnets the better.

Step 4: Bend the Wire Into the Desired Shape

It should look partially like the wire shown.

Step 5: Attach the Wire to Your Battery and Enjoy Your Homopolar Motor.

Make sure that the wire is not touching the magnets (but is instead close) and is touching the top of the battery.
