Intro: How to Get Rid of a Mosquito Bite

This works!
I am allergic to mosquito bites. When I get one, I am usually in misery for days with pulsing, itchy lumps that last for days. I've tried every over the counter remedy and old wives tale to find relief. This one really works. It doesn't just make it tolerable, the bite disappears! No bump, no itch, no evidence if the bite.

STEP 1: What You Need

  • Bentonite Clay
  • Organic Apple Cider Vinegar
  • Plastic cup or bowl
  • Plastic Spoon

STEP 2: Mix It Up

Mix equal amounts of clay and vinegar. I used a teaspoon of each and had plenty left over. (Do a tablespoon of each and use it for the best facial ever while you have it mixed up!)

STEP 3: Apply

Spread clay mixture on bite, completely covering the affected area, about 1/4 inch thick.

STEP 4: Let It Dry

Let the clay dry.. About 20-30 minutes. If the bite is on your face, you'll feel it pulsing, other areas not to much, but it's still working.

STEP 5: Wipe It Off

Using warm water and a soft cloth, wipe off all the clay. The area will be red, but not itchy anymore!

STEP 6: Gone!

About an hour later, the red is gone and just a faint ghost of an outline (which will fade over the next few hours) The clay is available online or at health food/vitamin stores. The vinegar is available at organic markets and some grocery stores. The clay also works with a paste made with water, but the vinegar works better :) So go back outside and stop living in fear of the dreaded mosquito!

Thanks, this really helped.

Didn't work for me at all, I am sorry to say. Still bumpy, still horribly itchy. Tried it twice exactly the way you said. Very disappointed.

Instead of spending you money on things. First know why they itch. They itch because when a mosquito bites you it injects its saliva into you to stop blood flow so the blood goes in him so one way it's to just let him bite you evaluate when he is done he will take his saliva out. Another way is to pinch it until clear watery stuff comes out and a mental way it to take you nail and put a X on it I (apologies for my spelling)
Thanks for posting. I too am very sensitive to bug bites...so much so that one time I had several on one arm and it swelled up to twice its size. I even get a dark discoloration after healing that won't go away for months. Just out of curiosity do you tend to be more susceptible to bites? I swear I can be out with friends and mosquitoes only go after me.
You can also rub deodorant on the bug bite to stop the itching
I'm glad it helped!! This stuff is amazing! It's also an amazing facial masque and reduces cystic acne down to just a zit after one masque application.
Thank you for posting this! I swell up really badly (6-8"in diameter) from mosquitos and went out immediately after reading your instructable and purchased bentonite clay. I got bit by a mosquito today and tried the clay. I was skeptical that it would work because all during the time that the clay was on the bite it was itching like crazy. But to my surprise and amazement after removing the clay, the bite was healed! I can still see some redness and a small bump but it doesn't itch!!! The clay also made an ugly bruise that was next to the bite disappear. I wasn't very careful when applying the clay and got some on the bruise and later noticed that the bruise was gone too. Wow, I'm amazed and thrilled to finally have something to treat mosquito bites. Thanks again!
I use white vinegar only, with good success.
