Intro: How to Make a Rubber Band Bracelet... With No Loom!

Rubber band bracelets seem pretty popular these days, and I figured that not everyone has a loom to make them. So...I'm going to show you how to make a fishtail bracelet!

STEP 1: Materials

All you need is:
★two pencils or pens (or your fingers) ★ an 's' or 'c' clip
★ 2 or more rubber band colors

STEP 2: Let's Start!

Put the rubber band on one stick, then pull it out and twist it, and put it on the other stick. It should end up looking like an infinity sign, or a figure 8.

STEP 3:

Now, put on your second color. Then your first. Then take the bottom band and bring it over the top of the stick one side at a time. Add another band of the second color, and repeat. Do this until the bracelet is long enough to go around your wrist.

STEP 4: Finish It Off

When the bracelet is the size of your wrist, attatch your clip to the bottom (where you started) then slip the top off the sticks and slide out the two in the middle. Then attatch the other side of you clip to the end. And voilá!

Awesome...just finished one with my daughter thanks to your instructable
Awesome instructable! Do you have any idea as to how many rubber bands do we need to make a bracelet (my hand is quite large)

Nice!! But i prefer it using two fingers or sometimes the loom board coz its easier.

i started using this method when i got sore fingers from having my blood circulation cut off :) good tip:)

Thanks for the tip :) it really helped me

Yes, it can be a little tricky at first, but when you get the hang of it it's not that hard. This is how I do it, since I don't have a loom. Your tutorial is great! Basically, you can do exactly what you did on two pens because on the loom you only use two pegs. So...just think of it like that if you want to try it sometime!
Hey I have this same tutorial and I used rainbow look but I think it's really cool that you used pens but it's a little bit trickier
Well, no, actually, there are some tutorials on YouTube that I found, but I didn't find any on Instructables, so I decided to share with you guys! :)
