With a few simple steps, you can turn your mobile phone into a YouTube remote control for your PC and use it to control playback, switch between videos and more. The best part about it: no complex installations, investing in new gadgets or getting through convoluted instructions – it can all be accomplished in 4 easy steps.

Step 1: Go to YouTube.com/tv

Head over to YouTube.com/tv.

Click on the three dots on the left-hand side and you will see a dropdown menu.

Click on Settings and choose Pair Device.

Step 2: Pair Your Device

You will see a screen pop up offering you two options on how to move on with the pairing process.

Option one: Connect your phone to the same network

Option two: visit youtube.com/pair and enter the code that you see on the screen

Step 3: Add a TV (On Your Mobile Phone)

If both of your devices (computer and mobile phone) are on the same Wi-Fi network, you can then open YouTube application on your phone and press Cast.

If nothing happens, you will need to tap on the three vertical dots in the top right corner of your YouTube application on your smartphone and go to Settings>Connected TVs>Add a TV.

On the next screen, you will be asked to enter the pairing code that you saw on the previous screen. Enter it and tap Add.

Step 4: Enjoy Your New Remote!

Once the process is complete, a window will appear and confirm that the two devices have now been paired.

There you go! You can now enjoy watching your favourite videos with a mobile remote by your side.
