Introduction: How to Write a Story. Assignment, Ect.

Have you ever had trouble brainstorming, or when you write do you tend to stray from the topic? Do you ever look at a story you've wrote and can't quiet figure out how the heck it sounds so bad? Well if anything like that applies to you you've come to the right place!

Step 1: Brain Storm

There are many different ways to brainstorm, you can make a simple Topic with bulletins underneath showing things that need to be included, you could draw a spider web which is simply a circle with the topic in and branches out with things that goes with that topic, another option is to just write down ideas as they pop in your head. I do use all three methods depending on what I am writing.

Step 2: Creating Your Story Line

If you've had English in high school you know that every story MUST have a story line and EVERYTHING happens for a reason. So here is the basics write a simple sentence or two of what happens at the first, then a action or tow that leads up to, the climax the big point usually main part of stories, then the peak where everything is as bad or good as it's gonna get then slowly descend into the conclusion. So for example if I am writing a story about Bob losing his phone. . . Bob just bought a new phone. Several days later his friend Chester showed a lot of interest in Bob's new phone. Chester was shocked at the price. Two days later Bob's phone was missing! Then I'll hit the climax. Bob watched in agony as Chester pulled out the exact same phone he lost. Bob accused Chester of taking his phone and Chester fought back. Finally I'll slide down off the peak. Bob went home drunk and as he lay against the toilet he looked to his right to his astonishment his phone lay on the floor.

Step 3: Writing

Of coarse that isn't the story itself that is what basically what is going to happen, so when you sit down to write remember leave your readers hanging they will hate you so much for it they will beg for more! And details are everything so which sentence sounds better...
1: That girl is nasty.
2: Rebeca is so nasty she wears short shorts, her shirt is to low cut, and I am pretty sure she's dated every guy around!
Or. . .
3: She smells worse than a rotten corpse, it's like she never takes a bath!

See using figurative language is good to just don't over use it. . .
My goodness it's been a billion years since I've seen you! How much was that dress a million dollars?!

It takes the right balance.

Step 4: Next

Next it editing ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS edit, double check your work! For Grammar, spelling, and if it's boring to you 99% of the time it is toning to boring to others.

Step 5: Tip

As a writer myself I always keep a notebook and pens in hand because I always have a quick thought of a story line or character or just a smarty comeback I need for a story :). Hoped this helped! Give me a heart for more!
