Introduction: How to Add Gmail Account Into Microsoft Outlook
The web based system of Gmail is one of the most feature rich webmail platforms. You may want to handle your Gmail messages from a client email program such as Microsoft Outlook. For example, if you have multiple emails accounts and not just the Gmail account, most likely you would want to read and handle all your email accounts from the same interface & program. If you use Microsoft Outlook to check and manage your email, you can easily use it to check your Gmail account as well. But you need to set up Gmail to allow you to download mail as POP or IMAP. Here are the steps to configure Microsoft Outlook for Gmail.
Step 1: The Following Tutorial Will Show You How to Setup Your Gmail Account to Work With Microsoft Outlook:
To setup your Gmail account to use Microsoft Outlook, sign in to your Gmail account. Click the Gear icon in the upper-right corner of the window and select Settings from the drop-down menu.
Step 2: On the Settings Screen, Click Forwarding and POP/IMAP.
Step 3: Under POP Download, Click to Select Enable POP for All Mail.
Step 4: Click Save Changes at the Bottom of the Screen.

Step 6: Close Your Browser and Open Outlook. to Begin Adding Your Gmail Account, Click the File Tab.
Step 7: On the Account Information Screen, Click Add Account.
Step 8: Select the Manually Configure Server Settings or Additional Server Types Radio Button Then Click Next.
Step 9: On the Choose Service Screen, Select the Internet E-mail Radio Button and Click Next.
Step 10: In the Internet E-mail Settings Window, Input the Following Information:
User Information
Your name: Enter your name as you'd like it to appear on emails sent from this account
E-mail Address: Enter your full email address.
Server Information
Account Type: POP3
Incoming Mail Server: pop.gmail.com
Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.gmail.com
Logon Information
User Name: Enter your full email address.
Password: Your Gmail password.
Then Click on More Settings.
Step 11: On the Internet E-mail Settings Dialog Box, Click the Outgoing Server Tab. Select My Outgoing Server (SMTP) Requires Authentication and Make Sure the Use Same Settings As My Incoming Mail Server Option Is Selected.
Step 12: While Still in the Internet E-mail Settings Dialog Box, Click the Advanced Tab. Enter the Following Information:
Enter 995 in Incoming Server (POP3)
Select This Server Requires an Encrypted Connection (SSL)
In the Outgoing Server (SMTP) Port, Enter the value 465
Select SSL in the drop-down menu next to Use the following type of encrypted connection.
Click OK to accept your changes and close the Internet E-mail Settings dialog box.
Step 13: Click Next.
Step 14: Outlook Tests the Accounts Settings by Logging Into the Incoming Mail Server and Sending a Test Email Message. When the Test Is Finished, Click Close.
Step 15: You Should See a Screen Saying “Congratulation!”. Click Finish.
