Step 1: Backup and Restore IPhone/iPad Using ITunes

  1. Connect your iPhone or iPad to computer via USB cable and open iTunes.
  2. Click the iOS device icon and tap "This Computer" > "Back Up Now".

Note: You can check "Encrypt iPhone Backup" to add a password to protect your iPhone/iPad backup; You can go to iTunes "Preferences" > "Devices" to verify the backup. Here you should see the name of your device with the date and time that iTunes created the backup.

Note: Please make sure that the destination device is newer than the backup device. Besides, the "Find My iPhone" feature must be turned off before restore.

Step 2: Backup and Restore IPhone/iPad Using ICloud

How to Backup iPhone iPad with iCloud:

  1. Connect your iPhone or iPad to a Wi-Fi network.
  2. On your iPhone/iPad, tap "Settings" > "iCloud" > "Backup" and make sure that "iCloud Backup" is turned on.
  3. Tap "Back Up Now". Stay connected to Wi-Fi network until the backup process completes.

Note: You can tap "Settings" > "iCloud" > "Storage" > "Manage Storage" and select your device to verify the backup. The backup you just made should appear in the details with the time and backup size.

How to Restore iPhone iPad from iCloud:

  1. Erase all the content on your iPhone or iPad and turn it on again.
  2. Follow the steps in the iOS Setup Assistant until you see the "Set Up Device" screen.
  3. Tap "Restore from an iCloud Backup" and sign in to iCloud. Then choose a backup and begin the restore.

Note: If your iDevice is new and never setup, you can skip the first step; Please make sure your iPhone or iPad join a Wi-Fi networking during the setup process.
