Step 1: Changing Oil

Make sure the undercarriage of vehicle is accessible. If not, raise it up with either a lift or ramps. Get the appropriate tools and take out the drain plug at the bottom of oil pan. Make sure to have a pail of some sort to catch the oil or there will be a big puddle of oil.

Step 2: Oil Filter

Find oil filter and take it off. May need an oil filter wrench. Also make sure to have something to catch the oil and filter. Once oil is done draining, put plug back in and spin a new filter on. Before spinning the new filter on put some oil on the rubber O-ring.

Step 3: Adding Oil

Next find out how much oil and what type of oil the vehicle takes. It should say in the owner's manual. Then find the oil cap underneath the hood and put the recommended amount of oil in. You may need a funnel if oil cap is in a bad spot.

Step 4: Final Step

Then put the oil cap back on and pull the dipstick and make sure the oil level is between the lines. If so, close the hood and clean up tools and it's are ready to go.

Finally, go back to the manual and learn how to shut off the light on the dash.
