Introduction: How to Dutch Braid

Learning how to Dutch braid can be challenging at first. However, once you learn how, you can do many different hairstyles with the same technique.


Braiding has been around for thousands of years and is practiced by many different cultures and on all hair types.

Supplies

You will need the following items:

Hair brush

Pin tail comb

Rubber bands

Step 1: Brush Hair

Start by brushing out any tangles in the hair.

Step 2: Part Hair

Part hair based on how many braids you would like.

Step 3: Section

Get a small section where you want the braid to start and split that section into three equal parts.

Step 4: Begin Braid

Bring middle section over the left section. Then bring the now middle section over the right section.

Step 5: Add in Hair

Add hair to the left section from the left side of the head and bring the middle section over that. Then, repeat on the right side. Continue this step till the end of the hair line.

Step 6: End Braid

Once you reach the end of the head and run out of hair to add, braid the rest of the hair normally.

Step 7: Secure

Secure braid with an elastic to ensure the braid won't fall out.

Step 8: Complete Braids
