Step 3: Enable USB Debugging on Android 2.3 Gingerbread and Earlier

To enable USB Debugging on Android 2.3 and earlier is a bit different from the steps above but it is also simple enough.

Go to Settings > Applications > Development > USB Debugging > Enable it

If you want to know the right way to enable USB Debugging on your Android phone and tablet, you should first know the Android version of your device. To know that, you can go to Settings and scroll down to the bottom, and find the "About Device" option. Enter to this menu and you can see many details of your device. Look at the "Software info" or "Android version", and you will know which Android version is your Android device.
