As others have mentioned, not a fan of having to download and install a program. I get it that some people don't like ads on sites, but I still choose to use sites like http://www.converttoaudio.com/, because I don't have to spend the time downloading and installing, worrying about whether it may contain something I don't want or changing things I don't want changed.

I used to use Youtube-mp3.org, but then I realized I didn't like the 128kb MP3 output. It's fast, but not quality. With the above site (and a few others) I can download high quality formats or just convert videos to other video formats. Makes it much easier.

think it is a little complicated to download and install it. So I often use
some online converters to extract MP3 from YouTube videos like MP3 Grabber or
Clip Converter. They are all free of charge. Just copy YouTube link and paste
it to convert bar, you can get the MP3s online. http://www.mp3grabber.net/

youtube-mp3 has a 20 minute limit. Use this website http://www.theyoump3.com if you want to convert long videos.

Good, but I use directly http://www.youtube-mp3.org/

It is FEF (Free, Effective and Fast). Try it.

A warning: you can convert as many as 15 videos to MP3 in a half hour. I think it is very reasonable to have such limit. After 30 minutes you can resume working.

Advantage is ability to choose format, resolution, etc. this tool download not only MP3s, but videos too, don't need a bunch of websites with annoyin' pop-ups. All what you need for downloading and converting from youtube is in one software!

Is it legal to extract music without paying something to those who created it? A few years ago I was experimenting with Puppy Linux, which contains a nice feature for downloading YouTube videos. I got a music video I wanted. Almost immediately I thought better of it, deleted it, and purchased the track at Amazon for the large sum of 99 cents.
