It can be frustrating when a zipper pull snaps and comes apart leaving you with nothing to hold onto to open your zipper. With FixIts and a paperclip you can create a new pull in under 5 minutes.

Supplies

Ways to boil water :

Kettle
On a hob in a pan
Heat cup of water in Microwave (without the FixIts stick)

Vessel (avoid plastic as FixIts can stick to it)

Glass cup or
Ceramic cup

Fixits

Step 1: Attach a Paperclip Through the Zip Loop

Thread you paperclip through the zipper as shown

Step 2: Soften the FixIt Stick

Heat your FixIts stick up and pinch off what you need

Step 3: Mould FixIts Around the Paperclip

Mould your molten FixIts around the paperclip and give it a smooth finish.

Step 4: ProTip to Reheat Fixits

If you make a bit of a mess of it the first time around, you can always reheat your FixIts to make it soft again, at which point you can reshape it and give it a nicer finish.

Step 5: Zip Up!

Test your repaired zip out.
