Introduction: How to Install Battery Tender on a Motorcycle

About: Introverted rider, started riding after 40. People thought I was having a midlife crisis. I just wanted a motorcycle! Watch content for mature people of all ages, not just for the middle aged.

In this instructable, I will show you how to install the battery terminal leads on a motorcycle battery. The motorcycle in this video is a Honda CBR250R, but the concept is the same on any motorcycle. A battery that is not recharged over an extended period of time will permanently lose its charging capacity due to a process called "sulfation." Keeping your battery on a battery tender ensures that it is topped up and prolongs its life.

  1. Remove the rear passenger seat.
  2. Remove the main seat by undoing the 2 bolts shown in the video.
  3. Remove each bolt on the battery and sandwich the contact loops between the bolt and terminal.
  4. Use zip ties to secure excess length to the frame.
  5. Replace the motorcycle seat.
