Intro: How to Make Amazing 2 Ingredient Halloumi Fries

This is literally the best recipe in the whole wide world EVER! If you love cheese, you will love these amazing Halloumi Fries. Made with just 2 ingredients in about 20 minutes, you’ll be licking your fingers before you know it. I promise you, make them now… you won’t regret it!

Here is what you will need to make 12-14 chunky fries.

  • 225g Block of Halloumi Cheese
  • 1 tbsp Plain Flour
  • Sunflower Oil, For Frying

Essential Equipment

  • Large Frying Pan

STEP 1: Cut Your Fries

Firstly, fill your frying pan to about 1″ high with oil and heat over a medium heat.

Next, open your packet of halloumi, rinse it under cold water and dry off with a paper towel. Then cut into chunky fries using a sharp knife. (About 12-14.)

STEP 2: Coat Them

Tip the flour onto a plate and roll each of the fries in it to coat.

STEP 3: Fry Them

Now check if the oil is hot enough by dipping the end of one of the fries in. It should start to sizzle.

If it does, add 5 or 6 into the pan and cook for about 5 minutes until golden all over. Turn them over occasionally if you need to.

STEP 4: Devour Your Handy Work!

When they are nice and golden, remove from the pan and place onto a plate topped with a paper towel to absorb any excess oil.

Then repeat for the remaining fries until they’re all beautiful cheesy fries of deliciousness!

Did I not tell you that these were ridiculously amazing?! Best served hot, these are absolutely incredible paired with your favourite dip – mine is definitely sweet chilli. You could even up the ante by adding some seasoning into the flour. Maybe some paprika or garlic powder… I don’t know about you but I am totally trying that idea!

Halloumi I've tried fries on pan to the same golden brown look and texture without any flour whatsoever since it doesn't melt. Is there a particular reason you went with flour?

It's just what I googled. Worked great so saw no reason to look for another alternative:)

Where do you get this cheese? No grocery store in our area has it. They are all Loblaw associates.

Depends where you're from. I live in th UK and we can get it at the supermarket :)
I get mine from Trader Joe's but even Walmart says they carry it in several areas. If you don't have those, if you have an independent butcher or deli they might. Most places will order a product for you if you ask, too.
