How to Make Indian Chai

Indian Chai is a cultural drink shared on special occasions, parties and especially when ever there’s nothing to do. Loaded with caffeine and made from milk and black tea Indian chai has the viscosity of slim milk with the punch of an energy drink.

The following instructions will teach you how to make the best chai in the world!!

Step 1: Ingredients

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups water
  • 4 cardamom pods, cracked
  • 4 black tea bags, or 1/2 cup loose black tea
  • 2 cups whole milk or half-n-half
  • 1/3 cup sugar (If Desired)

Step 2: Tools

Tools:

  • 1 Pot
  • 1 Mesh Strainer
  • 1 Tablespoon
  • 4-5 Cups

Step 3: Put It in the Pot

Add two cups of water and 3 teaspoons of loose black tea in the pot and let it brew on medium-high.

Step 4: Time to Add Milk

Once it comes to boil lower to the heat to low and add 2 cups of whole milk. Also at this time if you would like add the desired amount of sugar but no more then 1/3 cup.

Step 5: Heat It Up Again

Turn the heat back on to medium-high temp. and stir as it heats. At this time you can add the cardamom pods to the steaming brew.

Step 6: Let It Stir

Turn off heat and continue stirring for minute or so.

Step 7: Drain Through the Strain

Use the mess strainer ass you power the chai onto the cups so all of the loose tea and pod shells do not mix up with the steaming brew.

Step 8: Finished!

Drink and drink again!
