Introduction: How to Make Flan #HMS2020
Hello everybody today I am going to teach you how to make flan.
1/2 cup sugar , 3 eggs , 1 can of evaporated milk , 1 can of condensed milk , 1 tsp of vanilla .
(you can make one ( 8 x 2 inch tray of flan) serves 12-20 people
First, preheat the oven to 350 degree.Preheating is very important in baking because when the food tray is popped in , it starts to cook at the right temperature and faster. Take two trays ,one - 8 x 2 inch pan and an other pan wider than that ,also have some aluminum foil,whisk, and a mixing bowl .Having all utensils ready before we start will save time and helps us to make our dish faster. Also , if allergic to condensed milk , substitute it with 2 eggs,1 cup brown sugar,1 tea spoon vanilla,2 tablespoons flour,1/2 teaspoon baking powder,1/4 teaspoon salt. If allergic to evaporated milk substitute it with 1 cup of evaporated milk, use 3/4 cup whole milk and 1/4 cup half-and-half milk.
Second ,make caramel by adding 1/2 cup sugar in a pan and leave it on high flame and wait until it melts and turns brown .And make sure no water gets on it or it will splash and cause serious burns. (please do this under parent supervision). Be very cautious because the caramel pot is too hot and wear mittens and use a a wooden spatula..And the caramel crystallizes very fast ,so have the 8 x 2 inch pan ready and pour it into it.
Immediately spread the caramel on the pan that you decided to use for making flan.Spread it evenly at the base of the pan and make sure there are no gaps. And you might hear some cracking sounds after few minutes , don't panic it is just the sound of the sugar crystals cracking.Then get a bowl and put 3 eggs and beat then add 1 can of evaporated milk,1 can of condensed milk,and 1 tsp of vanilla extract to the bowl with eggs then beat very well.
After beating well get the bowl and pour into the pan with caramel instantly or else the caramel will get clumpy is not done fast enough. And may crack as you see in the picture.hen wrap foil on top of the flan pan.Then get a pan that is bigger than the pan you used to put the flan and fill it up with 1/2 or 3/4 of water then put the flan tray in the water.Then get a pan that is bigger than the pan you used to put the flan and fill it up with 1/2 or 3/4 of water then put the flan tray in the water.Then put in oven for 1 hour 30 minutes.
The take the pan out and allow it to cool and then refrigerate for 2 hours.
Now take the pan out and scrape the edges with the sharp knife and flip it over on a serving platter.Now cut it into tiny cubes and enjoy your every bite!!!!!

Flan is my all time favorite dessert and my mom makes delicious Flan.Now I learnt from her to make flan all my myself.But I had a lot of challenges say for instance, I struggled to open the condensed milk can.
Making caramel was the most scary part and the worst part is flipping the flab to a fancy platter!!!
But I am so glad that I learnt to make my favorite dessert.
