Intro: How to Make Plastic Bottle Cap Nozzles

I show how to modify a plastic bottle cap into a nozzle. The plastic bottle cap is heated up over a candle until it becomes malleable and can stretch. A skewer is then pushed into the bottom of the cap creating a funnel shape sticking out. It is then held for a few seconds until it solidifies and is dipped in water. The tip can be cut off higher or lower on the funnel creating the desired diameter of the hole. This is a very easy project and only requires plastic bottle caps, pliers, wood/metal skewer, scissors, and a candle or lighter. It can be used as a cap for glue, sauce, cooking oil, icing, etc.

This is awesome! Thank you so much. ;~D

Great idea! Thanks!

Brilliant! Thanks for sharing...

Very constructive idea.

That's the same method used for more than 20 years in Australia for making holes in the side of plastic bottles: apply a flame to a spot and when it gets soft apply air pressure into the bottle via your mouth to its mouth. The soft plastic will balloon out and pop. One can then quickly shove in a tube for a pouring spout or whatever and the plastic cools and hardens around it forming a waterproof seal.

The old orchy bottle and a bit of dads garden hose eh?

Good idea, thanks for sharing.

Nice. Your idea will likely be used today.

This will be a "As Seen On TV" commercial and Von Malegowski will be rich I tell ya, just you wait and see. Amazing.

Awesome idea. A while back I had the idea to use bottle caps to make little containers for keeping my paints wet and it worked perfectly. Your idea would be great for larger mixes, paint mediums, and glues. I wonder if it's possible to create a cap for them. I'll have to give it a try.

very clever! Great idea for cooking oil and frosting!

Excellent idea! We used to do something similar to this in school with hollow glass rods and a blow torch to make eye droppers.

Clever hack!

this is awesome, if I had seen this about a week ago I could have saved a fair amount of money & not made the mess I ended up with anyway!! Going to go make some right now!
