Introduction: How to Make Tissue Paper Flowers
Flowers are jazz. Seriously. Think about it. Flowers are the jazz of life. They make life more colorful, cooler, warmer and so great. But if it's cold and dreary outside, we're out of luck when it comes to blooming flowers. So that was my inspiration for making beautiful, colorful flowers out of paper. There are any number of different variations on paper flowers. The ones included here are made from tissue paper and the video breaks down the steps in a simple way. So brighten your day and get a little bit of summer in your life by making some beautiful tissue-paper flowers.
Step 1: Cutting Tissue Paper Into Square
Cut four pieces of tissue paper into a square.
Step 2: Trimming Flower Shape
Then cut the edges of the squares in a serpentine shape. This will give body and shape to your flowers. Then cut each petal.
Step 3: Arranging Flowers
Rotate each piece of tissue paper so that they are off set.
Step 4: Stapling Tissue Paper
Staple all the papers together. The staple should be in the center so that you can build your flower around that binding.
Step 5: Pinching Tissue Paper
Now you're ready to give shape to your flower. You'll need to fluff out the tissue paper, known as pinching up. Take the first piece of tissue paper and pinch it up into a flower shape. The closer to the binding staple, the tighter the pinch. The looser the pinch as you get out to the outer edge of the flower. Continue with the remainder of the sheets in the flower. Then arrange to make it look like a rose.
