Introduction: How to Make a 3D Printed TIE-Fighter
This is how you can create a model Star Wars TIE Fighter using a 3D printer, pipe (optional), and hot glue. You can use this as a fun project or you can try to hook up electronics to make the TIE Fighter fly or cruise on the ground. In this Instructable, you will see motors and other objects because we intended to make it fly, but no motors or wiring is necessary if you are looking to just build the design.
Step 1: Materials

Step 2: Step 2: Creating the Parts
Here are the necessary files to recreate the TIE Fighter that we made. There are two different sides of the wings; one for the bottom and one for the top.
Step 3: Cut the PVC Pipe
Using a saw, cut the PVC pipe into two, two-inch pipes.
Step 4: Build the Wing
Place the parts listed in the files on a desk. Using hot glue, glue the rectangular pieces onto the the piece with two rectangles cut out of it. You will want the attched pieces to be at an angle of about 135 degrees. Do this twice to get the two required wings.
Step 5: (Optional) Placing the Pipe
The pipe is used to mask any wiring that you may need. Place the tube on as the picture shows.
Step 6: Connect the PVC
Place the PVC pipe in the center of the base as shown. If you are hoping to create a wired design, place the wires in first before gluing everything together. Our final object looks like this.
Step 7: Drill Holes Into the
Using a clamp and a drill, drill two holes into the sides of the sphere as the photo shows. Be careful with the tools.
Step 8: Connect the
Using hot glue, glue the PVC pipe onto the side of the sphere where you drilled hole. Do this on both sides.
