How to Make a Chain Lamp

Well it finally happened, my bike
got stolen, and what did they leave me behind? My chain. Now I need to use this cheap bike hahaha. So yeah do I throw my old chain away or do I make an monument for my lost bike ;)

So here is my how to make a chain lamp! Let me know if you have any tips because instructables is all new to me.

Step 1: Make a Nice Curve.

Before you weld it all together, make sure that you have a plan on what shape you want. If you know what you want, lay down the chain in the shape you want it to be and start welding it.

Only weld the joints together and don’t weld to much because you still need some room for your electrical wire.

Step 2: Create the Base

Once you finished the first step,

make sure you create a firm base, you don’t want your lamp to fall down.

Here it’s the same story as the first step. Laydown your chain, in the way you want it and start welding.

Step 3: Clean and Paint It.

Before you paint it make sure you
clean it with a good degreaser. After you done that choose a colour and start spray painting it. It is better to use a spray paint because then you can reach places you can’t reach with a brush.

Step 4: Assemble and Enjoy

The last step is of course the assemblingof the electricity. The best thing you can do when you have no experience with that, is checking out one of the thousands of videos online. Once you did the electricity you need to find a nice way to weave the electricity wire trough the chain.

Once you done that enjoy your lamp!!
