Introduction: How to Make a Chocolate Cake in a Mug

Here is a super simple recipe for when you are feeling lazy and need a quick fix of something chocolatey and sweet!

Prep Time: 5-10 minutes
Cook Time: around 1 1/2 minutes

Step 1: Gather Materials

- One large microwave safe ceramic mug (around 18-20 ounces)
- Measuring instruments (i.e. teaspoon, measuring cup)
- A utensil for mixing
- 1/2 cup of cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup of flour
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1/2 cup of milk
- 1/2 tsp of baking powder
- 1/8 cup of vegetable oil
- Dash of salt and vanilla
- Optional: 3 tablespoons (or however many you want) of mini chocolate chips and sprinkles

Step 2: Combine Ingredients

The first step is to grab your mug and combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, milk, baking powder, vegetable oil, vanilla and salt. You can go ahead and pour these ingredients straight into the mug. Once all in, mix the ingredients together until the batter is smooth and a dark chocolatey color. If you would like to add in mini chocolate chips, you may do that now, mixing again until fully blended.

Step 3: Microwave

Now that all the ingredients are fully blended and ready to go, it is time to “bake” batter. Take the mug and stick it in the microwave. Microwave for 30 seconds at a time, three to four times, depending on how moist you want it to be.

Step 4: Enjoy!

After your Cake in a Mug is done microwaving, take it out and let it cool for about a minute. Feel free to sprinkle some extra chocolate chips or sprinkles on top, or whatever other toppings you like! Then the only thing left to do is enjoy this yummy treat!
