Introduction: How to Make a Cool Android/pc Controlled Bluetooth Arduino Robot Under $34/Rs.2300

About: I'm a major techno geek, but without any nerdy looks. I love PC games, both modern like COD,FIFA and classics like Road rash, Recoil etc.

Hi guys!

Ok, so I am 13 years old and this is my first instructable, and today I'll tell you how to make your own arduino bluetooth robot under $34 or Rs.2300, depending on where you live. I am writing this with great insights from some great Youtubers like Afzal Patil, Jaidyn Edwards, Roy Pe'er, and many more. I made this without any expensive things like soldering tool, breadboard, servos, etc. This is for those who want to make something cheap and best. So, wish me luck, and I hope you enjoy it!

Step 1: Getting the Parts

Ok, so for this build you'll need the following parts which are easily available on E-commerce sites like Flipkart, Amazon, Ebay, etc.You can also buy it from a local hobby store dealing in robotic kits, etc.-

1) A chassis (Opt for a wooden one as there are absolutely no chances of short-circuiting on them)

2) 2 x DC motors

3) A rechargeable 9v battery with around 2100 mah capacity

4) Arduino UNO R3 microcontroller

5) Bluetooth module(I personally recommend HC-05)

6) Castor wheel(To remove friction)

7) Lots of jumper wires

8) A stepper motor (I personally recommend L293D, as it's cheaper than L298D)

9) 2x L clamps (To attach the motors to the chassis)

10) 2x Wheels

Step 2: Construction

Okay now that you've got the parts, attach the chassis to the DC motors using the L-clamps as shown in the picture above.

Step 3: Wiring

Now do the wiring as shown in the schematics above.

Step 4: Uploading the Code

Connect the Arduino to your PC and upload this code.(And please, I beg you DO kill the power source to the HC-05, as otherwise it gets confused as it is receiving info from 2 sources, and you WILL get an error)

Step 5: The App (for Controlling With Your Phone)

Your bluetooth robot is now ready! It is time to download the Android app- Arduino Bluetooth Controller.Open it and go to the Vehicle control>Joystick icon> Settings as shown in the snapshots above. Go to set commands. You'll see Gesture front, Gesture Back, etc.

Set Front to 1, Back to 2,Left to 3, Right to 4, and Stop to 0

Step 6: The Software (to Control Through Your Pc)

For laptop users:

1. Download Processing from

Step 7: Voila!

Your bluetooth robot is now ready to play with ! I also added a roof to it. You can do anything you want. Just go crazy over it. Feel free to ask any questions below or at my E-mail- jyotirmaysil@gmail.com.

You can search for my tutorial with the same name on youtube.com!

Step 8: A Few Common Troubleshooters

1) Connect RX-TX and TX-RX in the connection of Arduino and HC-05

2) Kill the power to HC-05 while uploading the code.

As said above, I will answer any further questions in the comments box or at my E-Mail.
