Introduction: How to Make a DIY Cake Stand
Have you seen those marble acacia wood pedestals??? I love them, but I don’t love the price!!! They can get so expensive! One day, while strolling the aisles of Walmart, I spied this melamine plate that looked pretty close to real marble! The best part-it’s only $2.50!!!! And it has a little sister too!!! My frugal wheels started spinning, and I knew immediately what I was going to do with them!!! I bought both the dinner plate, and the salad plate! They would be the perfect addition to a pair of candle holders I already had! Here’s how to make a DIY cake stand!!!
Supplies
Wood candle holder
Melamime plate
Strong glue, like Gorilla glue
Step 1: Flip the Candle Holder Upside Down
Flip the candle holder upside down so that there is a level surface area to glue to.
Step 2: Glue
Glue around the perimeter of the candle holder and fill in, so that the entire area has glue applied. Use a strong glue, like Gorilla glue.
Step 3: Apply Plate to Candle Holder
Turn the plate upside down, center the candle holder glued side down to the plate, and press down the glued side.
Step 4: Press Down
Press the candle holder down on the upside down plate until it's well set.
