Intro: How to Make a High-Waist Pencil Skirt

You will need.

  1. Fabric: Jersey or Lycra
  2. Ribbon
  3. Scissors
  4. Pin
  5. Sewing Machine

STEP 1: First Step

Measure your waist line, hips and below the hips.

Mark these measurements on the fabric with the help of pins, remember that the has to be fold.

Now mark the shape of the pattern.

Sew that part then cut the excedent, then sew the hem of the skirt.

STEP 2: Second Step

With the other fabric, fold the width you want for the belt. Cut and sew the edges together.

Now with the ribbons (as you can see in the pictures) finish the belt. For the last part sew the belt on the waist of the skirt.

And you're done! :)

"remember that the has to be fold."

what?
Really?
And that makes sense to you?
pffft.
Outstanding.
Wow, nice tutorial! I love the lacing on the front.

I actually find jersey to be a poor fabric choice for a pencil skirt. (in terms of longevity) It will look good the first time, but after a wash or two it will loose it's shape.

I suggest instead a stretchy fabric (like a lycra blend) or, if you want to do a little shaping, a sturdy-but-thin wool, acrylic, or polyester.
You are goooooooooooooood! Please could you do a tut on the black top you are wearing in this. It looks yummy. Thanks and keep it up
