Introduction: How to Make a Homemade Bread Pudding
Have you ever thought about making a dessert out of old stale bread? Well, what if I told you, you can. Bread pudding is a dessert that is made out of stale bread mixed with basic cake ingredients such as eggs and sugar. I made this because we had a lot of stale bread and we didn't want to go to the supermarket too much due to the pandemic. So we decided to smoke bread pudding. We made it by mixing basic baking ingredients but adding diced stale bread. This instructable will teach how you can learn to put stale bread to good use.
Step 1: Bread Pudding Ingredients and Supplies
Here are the ingredients and supplies needed to make a basic bread pudding.
Ingredients needed
- 5 eggs
- 1 cup of milk
- 1/4 cup of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 5 cups of cubed bread
- 1 cup of mini chocolate chips
Supplies needed.
- Bowl to mix ingredients in
- A baking dish to put the ingredients in the oven
- A whisk to mix the ingredients
- A spoon to move mixture from bowl to baking dish
- A measuring cup to measure the ingredients
Step 2: Step 1: Load in the Ingredients Into the Bowl
The first step you have to do is start preparing the ingredients to get mixed.
To start, crack your five eggs and pour them into your mixing bowl. This will be the base of the mixture that holds the bread cubes together. Then add 1/4 cup of sugar and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. After that add 1 teaspoon of vanilla for flavor.
Step 3: Step 2: Add the Cubed Bread While Mixing the Ingredients.
After you do step 1 and add all the ingredients of the base into the bowl start to mix them all together. While you are mixing the ingredients start to chop your bread. The best way to chop your bread is to chop the bread into lines downward then flip it over flat and chop it down into more lines into they are around the same size cubes. While you are mixing the ingredients and dicing the bread add in cubed bread into mixing bowl while mixing. Once you have added the cubed bread into the bowl mix until the bread has soaked up some of the mixtures After the bread has soaked up some the wet ingredients add 1 cup of mini chocolate chips.
Step 4: Step 3: Baking and Oven
Once you have done step two mix the chocolate chips in lightly but where they keep their form. The use a spoon to dish the mixture into a baker dish. Make sure the mixture is flat and even and not to thin. Once you have done that insert the dish into in oven and set it to 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 20-25 minutes. While it is baking you can start to get ready the toppings, plates, and utensils.
Step 5: Step 4: Last Step, Dishing Out and Toppings
After 20-25 minutes in the oven at 400 degrees Fahrenheit take your Bread Pudding out of the oven and place it on a flat surface. Once it has cooled down you can add toppings to it. Good toppings to go with a Bread Pudding are nuts, dried fruit, and chocolate sauce. After that dish it out your family or whoever you are feeding it to. If they want they can personalize their own slice. Last, of all, you can enjoy it. That is how you make a bread pudding.
