Introduction: How to Make a Mob Grinder in Minecraft MadPack 3
The purpose of these instructions is to show you how to make a mob grinder in Minecraft with the modpack MadPack 3. This mob grinder will kill and transfer items and experience you get from killing the mobs.
Step 1: Materials Needed:
Minecraft on PC
Download the ATLauncher from
https://www.atlauncher.com/downloads/
(From there you can download the MadPack 3 instance)
(Above is a video by RyantheAllMighty on how to install the pack in more detail)
Lastly you need a computer with the following specifications or better: CPU: Intel Pentium D or AMD Athlon 64 (K8) 2.6 GHz.RAM: 2GB.GPU (Integrated): Intel HD Graphics or AMD (formerly ATI) Radeon HD Graphics with OpenGL 2.1.GPU (Discrete): Nvidia GeForce 9600 GT or AMD Radeon HD 2400 with OpenGL 3.1.HDD: At least 200MB for Game Core and Other Files.Java 6 Release 45.
Step 2: Materials Needed in Game
(You can either make these items by searching it in NEI, which is the search bar below your inventory, on how to craft them or you can use cheat mode to spawn the items in)
1051 Blocks of any kind
1 monster spawner of any kind
1 lever
192 Conveyor Belts
1 Autonomous activator
1 sword (red matter, diamond, or draconic)
9 Ender Chests
9 Ender Tanks
8 Vacuum Hoppers
1 Energy Cell
*Optional*
Angel Blocks
OpenBlocks Tanks
Step 3: Making the Main Structure
First start out with making a horizontal 16x16 square with your chosen blocks either in the sky or on ground level. Make sure you leave 4 empty levels below it that you can get under. Once you have made the 16*16 delete four blocks in the center, so you have space for the mobs to fall through.
Step 4: Making the Main Structure
Make walls for each side of the square making it 11 blocks high from the base.
Step 5: Connecting the Ceiling
Connect the ceiling of your structure to the walls you just created at the same level as the walls.
Step 6: Setting Up the Conveyor Belts
Place conveyor belts on the floor as shown the in picture.
Step 7: Placing the Spawner
Now place your spawner right above the hole in the floor, making sure that it’s two blocks away from the ceiling. You can use the angel blocks to easily place the spawner. Then place a lever on the side of the spawner.
Step 8: Placing the Autonomous Activator
Leaving two blocks from the floor, place 3 blocks below the hole and on one corner place your autonomous activator.
Step 9: Setting Up the Autonomous Activator
Right-Click the autonomous activator and place your sword in the top-left spot. Make sure to click the button in the activator menu for it to left click. This button is the one on the top-left of the four.
Step 10: Setting Up the Ender Chests and Vacuum Hoppers
Place your ender chests on the bottom like shown above. Then place vacuum hoppers above each ender chest.
Step 11: Setting Up the Ender Tanks
Place ender tanks on the outside of each vacuum hopper.
Step 12: Configuring the Tanks
Turn off extract mode on each of the tanks. (Off on top)
Step 13: Configuring the Vacuum Hoppers
Right-click the vacuum hopper and click on the xp output. Then click on the side that your tank is facing. This will make a green tube come from the hopper to the tank. Do this for every hopper.
Right-click on the vacuum hoppers again this time clicking on the item outputs on the side that your ender chest is facing. This will make a blue tube come from the hopper to the chest. Do this for every hopper.
If you have done it right they should look just like the one in the last picture.
Step 14: Powering the System
Power on your autonomous activator by placing a power cell directly on it. This power cell should be on the very bottom of the autonomous activator.
Step 15: Setting Up Where You Get Your Drops and Experience
Place an ender chest wherever you want to go to pick up the items from the spawner. Just make sure the chest has the same three colors on the top as the other chests or you will not get the items.
Place an ender tank wherever you want to collect your experience. You can place a tank from the mod open blocks next to it to store more.
Step 16: Finishing Up
Make sure your spawner is completely closed up except for the four holes on the bottom and make sure there are not any torches inside it or no mobs will spawn.
Step 17: Turning the Machine On
Turn on the lever that’s next to the spawner to turn it on and begin collecting your resources.
Step 18: You Did It!
If you followed these steps correctly you should have a functioning mob grinder that exports your items and experience. This will allow you to get more EMC from the mob drops and will allow you to enchant as many items as you want since you have several tanks full of experience.
Step 19: Troubleshooting
If your experience isn’t teleporting make sure the tanks by the spawner say “extract off” and the tank you want to fill says “extract on.”
If your autonomous activator isn’t killing the mobs make sure you have the left-click mode activated and make sure that it is powered.
