Intro: How to Make a Soccer Player Move

This is how you make a soccer player move and kick a soccerball.

STEP 1: What You Need

What you need-

-Cardboard
-Paper (coloured and white)

-String

-Toilet rolls

-Wire

-Straws

-Pie plates

-Pop sticks

Tools…..
-Scissors

-Stanley

-Knife

-Pencils

-Pen

-Textas

-Hot Glue

Aim….
The aim was that we got the girls leg to move up and down to kick a soccer ball

STEP 2: Design

First you design what you are going to do and draw it in an art book or a piece of paper. We decided to do a soccer theme and then added in the girl moving her leg to kick the ball but you can design it in anyway. Once you have designed it you can start making.

STEP 3: Get Your Cardboard

Next you get a cardboard box. Preferably a big box for a soccer field. Net you start to cover the box with green paper as grass. You also need some spare cardboard incase you need it.

STEP 4: Goals and Posts

Then you do the soccer goals and the lines for the field. You use string on the goals for the net and paper for the posts. To make the posts you roll up paper and stick it onto the paper. You then hot glue the posts onto the green paper which was already stuck onto the box. Use hot glue to stick the posts on.

STEP 5: Making Cams

Then start to make the cam. Make the cams out of cardboard and we made 4 of the cams to stick together so it was stronger but thats your decision. Find some toilet rolls and stick them together to make a stick underneath the box. This will rotate when you turn the handle.

STEP 6: Making the Inside of the Box

Then cut a hole in 2 sides of the box and put the cam and stick in the box. Then make a girl as the soccer player.(Hint- cut her out in one go its easier). Find a piece of cardboard and fold the end to make it stick to the inside of the box. Get a piece of wire and stick it onto the cardboard that is stuck to the inside of the box.

STEP 7: Wire

Now put a hole in the cardboard so you can cut the wire through to stick on the foot of the girl. Stick the girl onto the cardboard and the foot of her onto the wire. When you turn the stick of toilet rolls the cardboard piece will move which moved the wire which moved her foot to kick the ball. Stick the girl on with sticky tape.

STEP 8: The Ball

Make the soccer ball however you like. We used alfoil, but you can do it however you like. Now when you turn the toilet rolls the whole contraption should move to make the girl kick the ball.

STEP 9: What Was Successful

The goals and lines were definitely successful and so was the girl. We found making the cam a little bit tricky but it worked out in the end. The stick for the cams were successful too.

STEP 10: What We Would Change

We would change it so that the box was smaller so it was easier. We would also changed how we used our time. We would also make a more detailed design.

#OMG THIS IS AN AWESOME AUTOMATA LOVE IT KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is nice, you think you could use a miniature soccerball? I just thought it might be too dense so the way you did it is problably better. I hope you make a collection of your instructables, it's easier to get people to find it. Just add yours first then add a bunch of other soccer instructables that you like over time. Well done!
